The Golf Course
Mayfield Graves Country Club was established in 1922. The
golf course
originally had only 9 holes but was later upgraded to 18.
The course measures 6,305 yards and plays to a par of
70. It has numerous rolling hills, small greens, tree-lined
fairways and water comes into play on 4 holes. The course is player friendly but
challenging. The greens and tees are bent grass and the fairways and rough
are Bermuda.
Mayfield Graves Country Club is home to the prestigious
WKA (West Kentucky Amateur) tournament, which has been held annually since 1927
and to the LWKA (Ladies’ West Kentucky Amateur). Cary Middlecoff and Russ
Cochran are both former WKA champions. The current course record of 62 is
held by Jason Lancaster.
The 9th is our signature hole. It measures 159 yards and
requires an accurate tee shot through a stand of trees and over water to a
slightly elevated green sloping from back to front.
